OvO 2 is the sequel to the stick-figure platformer OvO, and the version on this page is an early demo build made in Construct 3. You steer a small round-headed runner through short obstacle courses, and the aim is to reach the flag at the end of each one as cleanly and as quickly as you can. The demo is honest about what it is: when you finish the last course, a message thanks you for trying it and tells you to watch for updates on the full game.

How to play OvO 2

The game runs on the keyboard; this build has no touch controls, so a computer is the place to play it. Level 0-0 is a guided tutorial that shows each key as an icon on screen, and it walks through the moves in order:

Run left and right, and jump over gaps.
Slide by pressing down while running. Sliding in the middle of a jump turns it into a dive that carries you further.
Smash by pressing down in the air, which slams you into the floor. Jumping right after a smash gives an extra-high bounce.
Wall jump by jumping while you are pressed against a wall, and climb with the key the tutorial shows while you cling to it.

Touching a spike or a laser sends you back to the start of the course, and you try again straight away.

What is in the demo

A course select screen lists the stages. Besides the tutorial there is a first set numbered 1-1 to 1-4 and a second, harder set from 2-1 onwards, plus a few hidden extras: a stage labelled 2-X that greets you with "Secret Level ?!", one named 17-B, and two bonus levels. The last stretch is called the Climb.

The courses mix in a good range of objects:

Jump boosts that launch you higher than a normal jump.
Portals, moving blocks and platforms you can jump up through from below.
Floors that break when you smash them, and blocks that slide in to crush you.
Rocket launchers, lasers that warm up before they fire, and zones that change gravity.
Buttons that move parts of the level, and coins to pick up along the way.

Tips

Learn the smash-then-jump bounce early; many ledges in the second set are placed just out of reach of a normal jump.
Use the dive rather than a plain jump for long gaps. It keeps your speed, which matters on timed runs.
Watch the laser particles. They glow before the beam fires, which gives you a moment to pass or wait.
On walls, chain jumps from side to side instead of stopping to climb when the gap is narrow.
Explore the edges of levels. The secret stage is not on the main path, so it rewards poking around.

Questions about OvO 2

Is OvO 2 unblocked at school?

OvO 2 runs in an ordinary browser tab from slope3.me, with nothing to download or install, so it plays on most school Chromebooks and work computers. If a network filter blocks the site, only that network's administrator can change it.

Is this the full version of OvO 2?

No. It is a demo build. Finishing the last course shows a message thanking you for playing the demo and asking you to watch for updates on the full game.

What moves can you do in OvO 2?

You can run, jump, slide, dive by sliding in mid-air, smash down into the floor, bounce higher by jumping after a smash, wall jump and climb walls.
